From Shoes to Rare Coins: Jacob Adoni's Newest Venture Sits Beside His Brooklyn Factory
The entrepreneur behind LJ Simone and PLV Studio has added a rare coin business to a career that spans fashion, footwear and commercial real estate.

NEW YORK. Jay Adoni, born Jacob Adoni, has spent most of his life around shoes. His newest venture is something smaller and older: rare coins.
The coin business joins a career that began when he arrived from Israel at 17 in 1976. He founded LJ Simone two years later, and after Pentland Brands acquired it in 1993 he served as President of Pentland USA.
He went on to develop supermarket and retail property on Long Island and to found PLV Studio, home of Pour La Victoire and Kelsi Dagger, in which VMG Partners took a majority stake in 2014. A 2011 WWD report describes him as co founder and chief executive of Pour La Victoire. Inc. magazine has described him as "a fashion industry elder statesman who once employed Steve Madden as a salesman".
Today he works in his shoe factory in Brooklyn and runs a rare coin business.
A full timeline of his companies is on the official site of Jacob Adoni.
